More information about the abstracts and conference:

Impacting Health Care Policy is the theme of this year's conference. From the passage of the national Health Care Bill to an enforced rule or regulation in the workplace, health care policy exists on many different levels.

Advanced practice nurses, and all nurses with a practice doctorate degree have great potential to influence policy that could affect the ever changing dynamics of nursing research, education and practice on a spectrum of levels. This year's conference intents to bring forth examples of the strategies, challenges and successes that nurses have encountered in their work on policy reform issues. We encourage all areas of practice to submit an abstract for either a poster or oral presentation to showcase their very important work in health care policy.

Abstract are from one of the following four categories:

Policy, Education, Practice, or Research

2011 Conference Objectives:

  1. Examine America's new Health Care Reform Bill and discuss how it affects DNP practice
  2. Identify methods used to raise public awareness of the DNP prepared, advanced practice nurse to increase access to quality health care systems and services
  3. Recognize how DNP leadership in policy formation can transform advanced nursing provisions, research, education and practice

SELECTION PROCESS: All abstracts submitted prior to the deadline and adhering to the guidelines will be considered. A limited number of abstracts will be accepted based on conference time and space constraints. Selection is made by a blinded review process. The decision of the review panel is final.

In respect for our review panel members’ time, abstracts that do not follow the guidelines will not be sent for review.

All presenters are expected to register for the entire conference. A discounted rate is provided. If you have not already, register here.
