We enthusiastically invite you to submit an abstract to share your expertise and knowledge. This invitation is for 30-minute concurrent or poster sessions. With the number of DNPs and faculty continuing to increase, we anticipate banner registration this year! The conference will address DNP exemplars in leadership in education, practice, and policy development.
Conference Objectives:
- Analyze factors influencing Doctor of Nursing Practice leadership in advanced nursing practice, nursing education and policy development
- Demonstrate Doctor of Nursing Practice leadership in advanced practice nursing, nursing education and policy development
- Explore how Doctors of Nursing Practice leadership has impacted advanced practice nursing, nursing education and policy formation
Final selections will be based on the quality and clarity of the abstract, as well as relevance of the described content to contemporary DNP practice and leadership.
Submission Deadline:
- Abstracts must be submitted no later than April 30, 2010.
- Late submissions will not be reviewed.
Abstract Guidelines:
Abstracts must be submitted electronically by completing this form and submitted as an email attachment to info@doctorsofnursingpractice.org
- Abstracts must be 500 words or less
- Font size - 12
- Content described in the abstract must be suitable for a 30-minute podium presentation
(Includes a 10 minute question and answer session) or a poster presentation.
- Specifications for poster size will follow. The poster must stand independently on a table top. We are exploring the option of providing poster board material for your convenience.
- During the submission process you will identify the category to which the content is
best suited:
DNP Leadership in Practice
DNP Leadership as an Educator, or
DNP Leadership through Policy change.
- The following sections will be required:
- Demographic information
- Title of Presentation/Poster
- Purposes and Rationale of Presentation/Poster
- Objectives of Presentation/Poster
- Abstract, to include:
Synthesis of Evidence
Proposed change in practice
Implementation strategies
Evaluation
Note: You must indicate your preference for a podium or poster session, although the final decision resides with the reviewer panel.
A brief biographical sketch is required for all potential presenters and must be provided as part of the submission process.
SELECTION PROCESS: All abstracts submitted prior to the deadline and adhering to the guidelines will be considered. A limited number of abstracts will be accepted based on conference time/space constraints and the competitive review process. The Abstract Review Panel will make selections using a blind review process, including assignment to either a podium or poster session.
In respect for our review panel members’ time, abstracts that do not follow the guidelines will not be sent for review.
No individual can be listed as the primary presenter on more than one abstract submitted for the conference.
You will be notified concerning the status of your submission by May 31, 2010. The decision of the review panel is final.
All presenters are expected to register for the conference. The primary presenter of an accepted abstract will receive one discounted registration.
