The Third National Doctors of Nursing Practice Conference
DNP Innovation and Leadership
The response to this year's call for abstracts has been amazing. We received 59 submissions from nursing professionals requesting to be a podium presenter in a breakout session. Another 21 submitted abstracts to be considered for poster presentations. There were 11 that submitted for either poster or podium presentation.
All abstracts have been delivered to the review committee. Responses are expected by Friday May 21, 2010 at 12 Midnight. All submitters will be notified by May 31st.
The variety of submissions is also amazing, ranging from clinical practice, to DNP practice in legislation and policy to leadership in education. This will certainly be a significant conference. Exemplars in DNP nursing practice will be available for all to appreciate.
Conference Objectives:
- Analyze factors influencing Doctor of Nursing Practice leadership in advanced nursing practice, nursing education and policy development
- Demonstrate Doctor of Nursing Practice leadership in advanced practice nursing, nursing education and policy development
- Explore how Doctors of Nursing Practice leadership has impacted advanced practice nursing, nursing education and policy formation
Selections will be based on the quality and clarity of the abstract, as well as relevance of the described content to contemporary DNP practice and leadership.
SELECTION PROCESS: All abstracts submitted prior to the deadline and adhering to the guidelines will be considered. A limited number of abstracts will be accepted based on conference time/space constraints and the competitive review process. The Abstract Review Panel will make selections using a blind review process, including assignment to either a podium or poster session.
In respect for our review panel members’ time, abstracts that do not follow the guidelines will not be sent for review.
You will be notified concerning the status of your submission by May 31, 2010. The decision of the review panel is final.
All presenters are expected to register for the conference. The primary presenter of an accepted abstract will receive one discounted registration.
