Linda Olson Keller, DNP, RN, FAAN

  • Dr. Olson Keller is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota School of Nursing. She is currently the principal investigator for "A Culture of Excellence: Evidence-based Public Health Nursing", a HRSA grant that is increasing the uptake of evidence in the practice of nurses in local health departments as well as translating evidence into practice guidelines.
  • She is a Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow and is currently the Chair of the Section of Public Health Nursing of the American Public Health Association
  • Dr. Olson Keller is an International speaker on Nursing Leadership and Emotional Intelligence

We are honored to have a DNP colleague open this year's conference and lay a foundation to explore leadership concepts and actions for all DNPs.

 

C. Fay Raines, PhD, RN

  • Dr. Raines is Dean and Professor with the College of Nursing at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and is the Past- President of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). 
  • As the current AACN president, Dr. Raines is the primary spokesperson for the organization with a committment to strengthening the quality of nursing care through establishing standards for nursing education.
  • Please view The Doctor of Nursing Practice: A Report on Progress by Dr. Raines and the AACN Staff. This demonstrates the committment to quality in our discipline and to doctoral education.

Dr. Raines' presentation to our group is bound to be enlightening and challenging. We appreciate the opportunity to explore how the AACN envisions the leadership potential with the practice doctorate degree.

Judith Karshmer, PhD, RN

  • Dr. Karshmer is Dean of the University of SanFrancisco School of Nursing, is an active member of the AACN and is a CCNE Team Leader having lead evaluation site visits for DNP programs.
  • She will offer her perspective on the link between generalists master's prepared nurses (Clinical Nurse Leader) and the DNP and how one can inform and advance the other
  • Her perspectives on leadership and how the DNP will contribute to the rapid evolution of health care deliver is a welcome addition to our conference.

We are happy to have Dr. Karshmer open our conference on Friday as we explore the evolving roles of DNP prepared nurses.
