American Academy of Nursing 2010 Fellowship Application
The Academy serves the public and the nursing profession by advancing health policy and practice through the generation, synthesis, and dissemination of nursing knowledge. Every day across America, the Academy and its members create and execute knowledge-driven and policy-related initiatives to drive reform of America's health care system.
AANP Foundation Scholarship and Grant Application for educational scholarships (NP masters, post-masters and doctoral students) and grants (both NP student and practicing NP projects/research) in the areas of heart health, diabetes, immunization, COPD, nutrition, health policy and more.
AACN Student Scholarship Programs includes a listing of philanthropic groups that are supporters of nursing education.
AHRQ Grants for Health Services Research Dissertation Program
The application is limited to students in research doctoral programs. Perhaps if DNP students make application they will reconsider this policy. Up to $40,000 awards are available.
American Nurses Foundation
The ANF Nursing Research Grants Program was founded over 50 years ago to encourage the research career development of nurses. This program continues to grow with contributions for nursing research, from organizations and individuals. These donations support scientific research for advancing the practice of nursing, promoting health and preventing disease.
Each year, through our Nursing Research Grants program, ANF provides funds to beginner and experienced nurse researchers to conduct studies that contribute toward the advancement of nursing science and the enhancement of patient care. Awards are given in all areas of nursing, including healthy patient outcomes, health care policy development, critical care, gerontology, women’s health, community and family intervention.
Association of periOperative Registered Nurses Scholarships
Association of Women's Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
The award is intended to assist new researchers to begin areas of study, investigate clinical issues and/or launch a pilot study. (It is unknown if they will accept applications for a translational study)
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced 78 grants to explore bold and largely unproven ways to improve global health. Click here to view the press release. The grants of US$100,000 each will be made to investigators from 18 countries and 6 continents. They mark the fourth round of funding from Grand Challenges Explorations, an initiative to help lower the barriers for testing innovative ideas in global health. Building Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity (BAGNC)
The American Academy of Nursing seeks applicants for its Buidling Academic Geriatric Nursing Capacity Claire M. Fagin Fellowship Program. This Fellowship suport two years of full time advanced research and leadership trainging for doctorally prepared nurses commited to careers in academic geriatric nursing.
