Jennifer West Is a current Rural health Family Nurse practitioner practicing in Southeastern Kentucky for a FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Clinics). Her nursing career spans from (1996) graduating from Trinity school of Nursing Moline, Il, with a diploma in Nursing then completion of her bachelor’s in science degree from Eastern Kentucky University (2007). In (2009) She completed her MSN at Eastern Kentucky University obtaining her Master of science in Nursing with focus in rural health family nurse practitioner. Mrs. West primary Doctorate focus was evolved from her interaction with Federal inmates during her career as a Correctional Nurse Practitioner within the Bureau of Prisons where the importance of early detection, evaluation, and treatment of inmates living with Chronic liver disease primarily Hepatitis C was beneficial for both patients’ long term health outcomes and transmission avoidance. Throughout her career her primary attention has been patient education and early detection for those at considerable risk from acquired liver disease that disproportionately affects rural communities. Certifications include Mid Atlantic Trainer for Federal Bureau of Prisons, TNCC (Trauma nursing certification), and member of AANP (American academy of Nurse practitioners.
