Eddie Simmons, DNP, RN
Dr. E. Jean Simmons completed her DNP at Walden University. She has more than 40 years of practice in Nursing in various roles. She is a retired Army Nurse Corps officer obtaining the rank of Colonel and culminating her military career as a Chief Executive Officer at a military medical treatment facility. Dr. Simmons is married to a retired Army officer who currently works for the Veterans Administration.

Purpose
To identify educational approaches to change the behaviors in patients with type II diabetes. Present alternatives to current patient education to assist in self management and promote improved health outcomes.
