Dr. Adepoju earned her Associate in Applied Science – Registered Professional Nurse from Maria College, Albany, New York, Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at SUNY-Institute of Technology, Utica/Rome, She also earned her Master of Science degree in Nursing Administrator from SUNY-Institute of Technology, Utica/Rome, New York. She earned a Post-Masters in Adult Nurse Practitioner Board certification. She earned a second Post-Masters Certificate as a Family Psychiatrist Nurse Practitioner from Sage College, Albany, NY. The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Wilmington University, Wilmington, Delaware. She is a Nationally Board Certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner by the ANCC.

Purpose
The purpose of the T2DM lifestyle modification project was to increase participants’ care engagement to improve their medication and self-management skills, increase their physical activity, and improve their dietary habits. The increased risk of major depression in patients with diabetes and depression has a significant negative impact on the quality of life of individuals with diabetes (Deuschle, 2013). Depression is also linked to poorer glycemic control, worse cardiovascular outcomes, and an upsurge in healthcare consumption (Park et al., 2013).
