Penelope Gorsuch, DNP, RN 
Dr. Gorsuch is the Clinical Core Assistant Director, Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare, Assistant Professor of Practice at The Ohio State University College of Nursing. She is a retired Colonel from the USAF holding numerous clinical and leadership positions. She served as Associate Director Patient Care Services/Nurse Executive for Dayton VA Medical Center. The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) has recognized Dr. Gorsuch as a Content Expert in EBP and has earned the Evidence-based Practice Certificate (EBP-C). In 2018, Gorsuch achieved the American College of Healthcare Executives Fellow status, FACHE credential.

Purpose
The purpose of this presentation is to discuss and provide actionable items for the DNP leader in understanding the responsibility to create a vision and strategy for evidence-based decision making (EBDM) and evidence-based quality improvement (EBPQI) within their organizations. By the end of this presentation, the DNP leader will be able to state the importance of and conduct an organizational assessment to determine their organization’s readiness and culture. Additionally, the DNP leader will gain an actionable strategic blueprint to build and communicate an interprofessional strategy for creating a quality improvement enterprise that affects quality, patient safety, and workforce stabilization.
