Barbara Dupont, JD, DNP, RN
Dr. Barbara J. Dupont is a multi-discipline attorney, doctor of nursing practice, registered nurse and managing partner of the Dupont Law Firm, LLP, Stamford, Connecticut. She has over 25 years of trial and appellate experience with catastrophic personal injury matters, international law (victims of terrorism), constitutional law and business torts. She served as Assistant Professor of Nursing at Quinnipiac University, and is currently serving as a Chair to Quinnipiac University Health Affairs Board of Fellows. She received her Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University School of Law and obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from MGH Institute of Health Professions.

Purpose
The purpose of this presentation is to educate DNPs about strategies which ensure quality improvement. The overarching goals of the lecture seek to enlighten DNP’s understanding of nursing ethics, as they interface with civil and criminal law to best promote quality health care outcomes within patient centered health care settings.
