Cheryl Manjengwa, DNP, RN, CNL, NE-BC 
Dr. Manjengwa has been nursing for over 20 years. She received her BSN from Dillard University in New Orleans, LA, and her MSN with a certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader(CNL) from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, TN. Dr. Manjengwa has experienced several different nursing areas before moving into her manager role, including medical-surgical, intensive care, home health, and community health. In 2014 she began her leadership journey at the Dallas VA as a nurse manager on a  34-bed medical-surgical unit. She has served in the nurse manager role for the past seven years.

Purpose
The goal of this presentation is to inform the audience of the impact of the implementation of a modified early warning system on a medical-surgical unit at a Veterans Affairs hospital.
