Telehealth Education: Impact on Provider Experience and Adaption (1.0h)

The course includes PowerPoint (in PDF) and an MP3 audio file from the presentation originally shared at the 14th National Doctors of Nursing Practice Conference at the Swissotel in Chicago, August 2021. Kelli Garber, DNP, APRN, PPCNP-BC Dr. Garber  is the Lead Advanced Practice Provider and Clinical Integration Specialist for the Medical University of South Carolina Center for Telehealth, a National Center of Telehealth Excellence. In addition to providing oversight for the clinical operations of the MUSC School-Based Health Program, Dr. Garber is responsible for providing patient care via telehealth to children across the state of South Carolina enrolled in the program. Dr. Garber is a published author and an accomplished presenter at the local, state, and national level on the topics of telehealth; telehealth and APRN practice; and school-based telehealth. Purpose Lack of training has been cited as a barrier to telehealth provider adoption and may affect the quality of the encounter as well as the patient and provider experience. The purpose of this presentation is to share findings of a study conducted to determine if there is a significant difference in provider level of perceived usefulness, self-efficacy, perceived knowledge, use and satisfaction with telehealth related to the type of telehealth education and telehealth education modality received. This is consistent with the conference theme of “The DNP and Quality Improvement.”
