Dierdre Rea, DNP, RN Deirdre Rea received her BSN from Fairfield University, her MSN as a psych CNS from Yale and her DNP from James Madison University. She is currently Director of Emergency Psychiatric Assessment and the Intensive Ambulatory Psychiatric Continuum of Care at Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia. Purpose The purpose of the presentation is to offer a strategy related to the barriers faced in implementing evidence-based practice into care. While the study focused on one clinic, the strategy is applicable in many settings. The key is to accurately identify the barrier to adoption.
