Maggie Ruley Island Inspirations

About Maggie
I thought you might like to know……
I moved to Key West in 1985 after receiving my BFA from the University of Arizona. My first studio in Key West was on the corner of Thomas and Petronia Street in the Blue Heaven building where the restaurant is now. It was so small I called it “Dragonfly, a tiny art studio”.

I created a body of work that incorporates the tropical motifs and colors found in Key West’s island life style. The exploration of these themes continues to enthrall me. It’s been awhile since I’ve had that studio, but I remember those days with great fondness.

I have some great stories of those early days and if we ever get to meet, I’d be glad to tell you a couple.

Currently I have a wonderful studio and gallery space in the heart of Old Town Key West on fabulous Fleming Street that I call Island Inspirations.  Most days you’ll find me at the easel, but Thursdays you’ll find me teaching classes in the studio.
Ask me about my classes.
