The Use of Mentoring to Determine Civility and Empowerment with Online Nursing Faculty

Your participation in a research project is requested. The title of the study is The Use of Mentoring to determine civility and empowerment with online nursing faculty.

The research is being conducted by Ami Bhatt, RN a doctoral student in the Nursing and Health Sciences department at Barry University, and is seeking information that will be useful in the field of Nursing. The research aims include:

The aim of the research is to investigate whether a mentoring program determines nursing faculty civility and empowerment in the online environment.

If you decide to participate in this research, you will be asked to complete a survey questionnaire. The questionnaire is estimated to take no more than 20 minutes to complete.

Your consent to be a research participant is strictly voluntary and should you decline to participate or should you choose to drop out at any time during the study, there will be no adverse effects, and the data you provide will be destroyed and not used in the study. I anticipate the number of participants to be 150.

There are minimal risks to this study. The following procedures will be used to minimize these risks: You can skip any questions you do not want to answer. Although there are no direct benefits, your participation in this study may help our understanding of mentoring in the nursing education field and to assist in determining if civility and empowerment also exist with the use of mentoring.

As a research participant, the information you provide will be kept anonymous, that is, no names or other identifiers will be collected on any of the instruments used. Data will be by the database and only the researcher will have access to this information. SurveyMonkey.com allows researchers to suppress the delivery of IP addresses during the downloading of data and in this study, no IP address will be delivered to the researcher. However, SurveyMonkey.com does collect Ip addresses for its own purposes. If you have concerns about this, you should review the privacy policy of SurveyMonkey.com before you begin the survey.
